Gail Price brings a long history of public service to her campaign for a seat on the Palo Alto City Council. As a Palo Alto School Board Trustee for 8 years, Gail demonstrated skills and expertise as an elected official. A strong, committed leader, she listens to the public, appreciates staff work and consistently pursues solutions to complex planning and community issues. Gail is widely regarded as deliberate and fair.


Gail has lived in Palo Alto since 1990. She and her husband, Jeff Salzman, have three sons, Will, Michael and Ben Salzman, who all attended PAUSD schools and graduated from Gunn High School.
Gail is the Executive Director of the American Institute of Architects in Santa Clara Valley. A longstanding member of the American Institute of Certified Planners  and the American Planning Association, she has been a credentialed professional planner in both local and regional government. Prior to her current position, she worked as the Director of Individual Giving at the San Jose Museum of Art and as a planner at the Valley Transportation Authority and in the city of Sunnyvale.

Gail currently serves as a Trustee for the Arts Council of Silicon Valley, a Board member of the Ross Road Family YMCA. Previously, she served on the Board of Palo Alto Community Child Care. She is also a longstanding member of the Sierra Club and various performing and visual arts organizations.

Gail received B.A. and M.A. degrees in Social Science and Asian Studies from the University of California at Berkeley, and an M.A. in Geography from the University of Maryland.

Acknowledged for nearly two decades of civic commitment in Palo Alto, in 2008 Gail received the Sally Siegel Friend of Education Award from the Palo Alto Educators’ Association and Community Hero Award from Peninsula Interfaith Action
